Salt Lake City, UTOfficials in Roy say people in a car that was struck by a train hopped out of the vehicle right before it was hit.
No one was injured in the Monday night collision.
Roy police say the car turned onto the Union Pacific tracks about 9:45 p.m. A southbound train approached and struck it from behind.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports the car was lodged under the front of the train, which pushed it nearly a mile south before it came to a stop.

Salt Lake City, UTPolice have identified a man who was fatally struck by a car on a dark and busy Pleasant View road over the weekend.
Pleasant View Police stated Eric James Johannes, 46, of Ogden, died on Sunday of injuries he sustained Saturday night when he was hit by a car as he attempted to cross 2700 North near 600 West.
"This all is still under investigation, but our witness statements and evidence are pointing toward no charges being filed against the driver at this time," police said.
