A man is dead after crashing his car Wednesday evening in Wirt County. State Police say just before 7 o'clock Wednesday evening, 54-year-old David Herbst Senior of Shirleysburg, Pennsylvania was heading west on Route 47 near Newark Road when he crashed his car. Officials say the preliminary investigation shows he went off the road and into the embankment.
