Dominic I. Maksymik, 18, from Attica, was killed Sunday night after the vehicle he was driving collided with a tractor-trailer in Bennington, New York.  Maksymik was driving north on Route 98 when his car crossed into the southbound lane and hit the southbound truck. Maksymik was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. Deputies said that a female passenger riding in Maksymik's car was airlifted to Erie County Medical Center in critical condition. Her name hasn't yet been released.

Shannon M. Malone was involved in a minor accident on Perry Road. She was taken to a local medical center for an evaluation, and is now facing multiple charges including DWI, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident and moved from lane unsafely. This accident is still under investigation, and blood test results are not yet available.

Authorities say a drunk driver was responsible for a single-vehicle crash that injured three people, including himself. The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office says TeeJay Johnson, 24, of Bliss crashed his Ford Ranger around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday on Hiram Road in the Town of Arcade. The vehicle hit a tree and the Jaws of Life were required to free him and two passengers. A female passenger and Johnson were both flown to ECMC, where they were listed in stable condition. A male passenger was taken to the hospital by ambulance, where he was treated and released.

A Cowlesville man died sometime overnight after the snowmobile he was riding southbound on Folsomdale Road in the Town of Bennington traveled off the east shoulder of the road and struck a road sign, Wyoming County sheriff’s officials said today. Jeffery J. Kirsch, 30, was discovered early this morning by a town plow truck operator and pronounced dead at the scene just south of Bear Road, sheriff’s officials said. Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by the Strykersville Fire Department, Harris Corners Fire Department and Wyoming County Emergency Services. The investigation is continuing.

A one-vehicle crash in Wyoming County late Sunday night led to the arrest of a Castile man accused of having a blood-alcohol level more than three times the legal limit, Wyoming County sheriff’s officials reported.

At about 11:20 p.m., Perry village police and sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash site on Pattridge Road in the Town of Castile, where they found an overturned and unoccupied Dodge Ram. Police later located the driver, 35-year-old Jason M. Redfield, on Lower Reservation Road, where he admitted to having been the driver, officials stated.

A 54-year-old Varysburg woman was fatally injured and an 88-year-old Akron man suffered chest injuries in a two-car crash on Route 98 just south of Lindsey Road in the Town of Attica about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, State Police reported.

Terry J. O’Neill was rushed to Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw with severe head injuries but died there at about 4 p.m.

Richard M. Rudolph was taken to Buffalo’s Erie County Medicalk Center for treatment of what authorities said were non-life-threatening chest injuries.

The hiker who died after falling into a gorge near Letchworth State Park’s Lower Falls has been identified as a North Tonawanda resident.

The body of Stephen Bzibziak, 21, was recovered today, according to State Park Police. Authorities said he called 911 for help after falling into a gorge Wednesday afternoon, and his body was located several hours later by members of the State Park Police Rope Rescue Team.

A 28-year-old Wyoming man was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated after a one-car rollover accident Thursday on Saltvale Road in the Town of Middlebury, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Matthew A. Cerefin was driving a south on Saltvale Road between Lamb Road and LaGrange Road when he drove off the west shoulder, slid back onto the roadway and went off on the east side of the road, overturning in a ditch multiple times. His vehicle was demolished.

A 70-year-old Marilla man who left home on a snowmobile Thursday morning was found dead near his crashed snowmobile in the Town of Sheldon early this morning after an extensive search that included deputies, firefighters and members of a snowmobile club. According to a press release from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, Wesley J. Kless of E. Blood Road, Marilla went out for a ride on his snowmobile at 11 a.m. Thursday and was reported missing by a concerned family member some time later.
