A single-vehicle wreck killed one person on Christmas Day. South Carolina Highway Patrol said a motorist died after a crash on S.C. 66 just after 6 p.m. Wednesday. Troopers said a pickup truck ran off the right side of the road, hit a sign and a guide wire, overturned and hit a tree. Authorities said the crash trapped the driver. The driver was removed from the car, taken to Laurens County Medical Center and pronounced dead. The coroner has not released the victim’s identity.
