One person is dead after a crash between a semi truck and a pickup truck in Boone County this morning.

The crash happened on U.S. 47 east of U.S. 39 near Thorntown before 7 a.m.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department said the crash is still under investigation this morning. It’s unclear how many people were in the pickup truck or whether anyone else was injured in the crash.

Police are asking travelers to find alternate routes this morning as they complete their investigation.
