Newark Police are investigating a serious six-car crash that left an eight-month-old girl hospitalized in critical condition Thursday. It happened around 11 a.m. on Capital Trail at the Windy Hills Bridge. Police say a southbound Dodge Neon operated by a 36-year-old woman, with two small children inside, slid on the icy roadway and into the path of a northbound Honda Accord, operated by a 75-year-old man with a 75-year-old female passenger. The Neon was struck on the passenger side by the front of the Accord.

Six people, including four children, were hospitalized Monday afternoon after a “high speed rear-end collision” in Battle Ground, police said. A westbound Toyota FJ Cruiser reared-ended a GMC Yukon near Southeast Eaton Boulevard and South Grace Boulevard, according to a spokesman for Clark County Fire & Rescue. The crash was reported at 3:44 p.m. During the accident, the Cruiser crumpled the Yukon so badly that it reached the back row of seats, where two children were sitting. Nobody, however, was seriously injured in the crash.

A 2-month-old child and a pair of adults dodged death when a passing driver clipped their car on an icy road near Klamath Falls on Wednesday and sent both vehicles flying into an irrigation canal, police said. Howard Kingman, of Sisters, was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe north on U.S. 97 around 1:05 p.m. when he tried to pass a Toyota Prius near milepost 264, Oregon State Police said. The 70-year-old driver lost control on the icy roadway and struck the Prius, which carried Robert Burton, 56, Bree Burton, 20, and her infant son, police said.
