A driver traveled the wrong way for 2.3 miles on Interstate 794 over the Hoan Bridge early Saturday until he crashed into a three-foot median wall just north of Carferry Drive, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office said Saturday. Deputies said that after Edward Deshazer of Cudahy drove a 2007 white Ford Expedition onto I-794 at Lincoln Memorial Drive multiple squads responded to a call that came in about 2 a.m. from a construction worker. Deshazer was cited for driving while intoxicated, a first offense, and recklessly endangering safety, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
