Denver, COAurora police are investigating after a case of illegal street racing sent three to the hospital.
The incident happened around midnight Sunday on Smith Road and Ensenada. The three people who were sent to the hospital were not part of the street racing.
Police believe there were multiple cars street racing westbound down Smith Road when a BMW struck a Honda that was making a turn. All three in the Honda were sent to the hospital.

Denver, COA trooper with the Colorado State Patrol was seriously injured when a van hit her patrol car while investigating a crash.
Trooper Adeline Roybal was in her patrol car on the left shoulder and median of Interstate 70 near mile marker 292 around 10:45 p.m. Thursday when she was hit by a 1996 Ford van.
The collision was so intense it pushed Roybal’s Crown Victoria and another patrol car into the median.
Roybal suffered serious injuries and was taken to Aurora South Medical Center for treatment.

Denver, COPolice in Aurora say a fatal crash that took place late Sunday night might have been a hit-and-run.
A woman was found in the road at East 4th Way and Kenton Street at approximately 10:19 p.m. The woman was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Witnesses told police they saw a tan or beige Chrysler or Dodge minivan near the scene. Police have since talked to the driver of the minivan and said he wasn’t involved.
Police say if a vehicle was involved it may have front end damage.
The name of the victim has not been released.
