Greensboro woman died from her injuries after she was hit by a car Monday night. City police said Stephanie Raffensberger was hit while trying to cross East Cone Boulevard near Orange Street. Authorities said she walked into the path of a vehicle traveling westbound. Raffensberger, 47, died at Moses Cone Hospital. The 21-year-old driver of the vehicle has not been charged.

A motorcyclist was killed in an early-morning crash in Winston-Salem.

Authorities said the crash happened on Reynolda Road about 4 a.m.

Investigators said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Sean Christian Randolph.

A skateboarder was hurt in a crash with a sport utility vehicle Saturday. Authorities with the Burlington Police Department said the crash happened just before 6 p.m. on Maple and Quintas avenues. Investigators said Christopher McKean, 23, of Burlington, was riding a skateboard on Maple Avenue when the SUV being driven by Bobby Westbrook, 68, of Burlington, attempted to turn right onto Maple Avenue and struck the victim. McKean was taken to University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill for treatment. He was listed in stable condition.

A missing man was found dead Saturday after a crash on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Authorities said Grover Davis and his vehicle were found on the parkway just before 11 a.m. Investigators said Davis had last been seen leaving his home on White Pines County Club Road on Thursday. The Carroll County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident, and the National Park Service is investigating the crash.

A man working with a tractor on a farm near Elkin was killed Friday when it flipped over on him, according to an emergency official.

The victim was identified as William Masten Brendle, 67, of Jacksonville, Fla.

The fatal accident was reported shortly before 10 a.m. at 173 Old Meadowbrook Lane, located off N.C. 268.

The man was working with his son beside a small wooded area there when the incident occurred.

Brendle was crushed underneath its weight as a result.

A female pedestrian was killed after being hit by a tractor-trailer Friday afternoon in Cooleemee. Angelica Loj, 23, died around 1:30 p.m. on Highway 801 near Marginal Street and across the street from a convenience store. Loj was walking across the street and ended up walking in front of a tractor-trailer, troopers said. A witness at the convenience store said he heard a loud thump and then saw a body in the road.

Eleven people have been hurt in a school bus crash in Yadkin County.

Investigators say there were 20 students and a driver on the bus from Forbush Middle and Forbush High schools when the bus ran off a road and turned on its side around 7:20 a.m. Tuesday in Yadkinville.

Four of the injured students have been released from Yadkin Valley Community Hospital.

A man who led a Carroll County deputy on a high-speed chase avoided serious injuries despite flipping his vehicle on the median of I-77 just south of the Poplar Camp exit. Luke Payton, who recently moved from North Carolina to Smithfield, Va., was complaining of back and neck pain but showed no visual signs of injury following the wreck, according to a Virginia State Trooper. Payton was transported to Twin County Regional Hospital, where he was treated and released.

A teenager faces charges in connection with a Friday afternoon traffic crash in Thomasville in which one victim had to be freed from his vehicle by emergency crews.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to Winston Street and Arlington Avenue at 3:22 p.m. in reference to a rollover accident in which one person was trapped inside a vehicle.

A Greensboro police officer was taken to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle while investigating another crash Tuesday night.

The collision happened around 7:05 p.m. in the 3200 block of South Elm-Eugene Street. The female officer suffered non life-threatening injuries and has been released from the hospital.

The officer was investigating a collision when another vehicle going north on South Elm-Eugene Street lost control and hit the officer, Greensboro police said.

The crash is still under investigation. No charges have been filed against the driver.
