Pittsburgh, PAAt around 10:07am, Shaffer was driving her SUV on an icy section of Route 422 and lost control. Her car turned sideways, crossed into the oncoming lane, and collided with a semi-truck head-on. She was later pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Minneapolis-St. Paul, MNThe deadly crash happened at 6:22 p.m. on Highway 12 when a Chevy Malibu traveling westbound on Highway 12 and a 2002 Nissan pick-up traveling eastbound crashed head-on when the Nissan lost control on the icy road and crossed the centerline. Both vehicles wound up in a ditch. 37-year-old Fidencio Ramirez Rojas of Litchfield was ejected from the Nissan and was pronounced deceased at the crash scene. Juan Martinez Garcia, 44, Miguel Hernandez, 26, and Pedro Godoy, 43, were all in the Nissan and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
