Police are looking for an SUV that struck and killed an 89-year-old man in San Ysidro Saturday afternoon and then fled the scene. The crash occurred at about 4:30 p.m. on Cottonwood Road, near Beyer Boulevard. According to Officer David Stafford, a San Diego police spokesman, the victim was struck in the street. He was taken by ambulance to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he died. His name was not released. Police initially said the victim was 74, but later corrected his age to 89.
