David Willis of Middleborough was driving a 2014 Honda CRV at a high rate of speed in the northbound lanes of I-495 in Franklin, MA when his vehicle struck the rear of a 2005 Jeep Wrangler while changing lanes. Willis's vehicle then went off the road, crashed into a rocky abutment and rolled over. The Honda driver was brought to Milford Hospital, where he died. The driver of the Jeep, William Leahy, 49 of Bennington, New Hampshire, wasn’t injured. Speed was a factor in the accident.

Two people are recovering from serious injuries this morning at Bay State Medical Center after an accident late Saturday night. The crash closed down two lanes of Route 57 until about 2:00 Sunday morning. At about 11:00 p.m. Saturday a motorcycle crashed into the back of a car. The two people involved were seriously injured.

A driver was arrested and charged with attacking a Massachusetts State Trooper after a minor accident on Interstate 93 Friday morning. Nassive Palmer, 30, of Woburn, had pulled over in the breakdown lane on 93 south in Medford around 7:30 a.m. after his Dodge Caravan allegedly rear-ended an Audi. As Trooper Nicolo Falco asked each driver for their license and registration, police said Palmer “began to become uncooperative” and tried to drive away.

A Braintree teen has pleaded not guilty in Quincy District Court to operating under the influence of drugs after he allegedly crashed his car into a police cruiser while he was trying to videotape an accident scene on his cellphone, police said. William Sawyer Jr., 18, was also charged with impeded operation, operating to endanger, and obstructing an emergency vehicle, according to a Norfolk district attorney’s spokesman.

Two MBTA bus drivers and three passengers suffered minor injuries this morning after their buses “made contact” while the vehicles were traveling eastbound on the Massachusetts Turnpike near the Prudential tunnel, the MBTA said. “[One] bus was traveling at reduced speeds when it made contact with the rear of the stopped bus in front of it,” a MBTA spokesman said in an e-mail. The 501 and 505 MBTA buses crashed at 8:20 a.m.

Seven people were taken to the hospital with back pain after a crash on Route 28. It happened Sunday morning. According to MBTA spokesperson Joe Pesaturo, the bus was stopped at a bus stop when a car rear-ended the bus. The car appeared to have extensive front-end damage. There’s no word on whether charges will be filed.
