Phillips was driving with her blood-alcohol limit at four times the legal level when she lost control of her car. The car knocked over two utility poles, overturned, and landed upside down in a tree. Her 8-year-old son was in the car. Fortunately they were both wearing their seatbelts, which police believe saved their lives.

Phillips pleaded guilty to assault by auto and driving while intoxicated charges. She could face up to 18 months in jail on the fourth-degree assault charge.
