William Conner Hall, 14, was killed after his ATV ran into a tractor in Dubois County on Sunday. The teen was driving an ATV with three other boys on County Road 850 W when Hall collided with the front of a tractor driven by Mike Hillsmeyer. Hall was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital where he later died. A passenger on Hall’s ATV was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Officials said Hall was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

A south-central Illinois man has died after a tractor he was driving flipped onto him. Kenneth Zarecki of Mulberry Grove died Saturday. The Fayette County Coroner said Zarecki, 65, was killed instantly. He says Zarecki was using the tractor to remove a tree when the tractor flipped and pinned him. Bowen pronounced Zarecki dead at the scene. The coroner's office is continuing to investigate the accident. Mulberry Grove is a village of about 600 residents in Bond County. It is about 60 miles northeast of St. Louis.

A mechanic was crushed to death by a tractor in a workplace accident Thursday at a Volvo-owned construction equipment company in San Leandro, authorities said. The man was working beneath a front loader that had been lifted up on jacks in a yard of Volvo Construction Equipment and Services at 1944 Marina Boulevard, said Aisha Knowles, a spokeswoman for the Alameda County Fire Department. The vehicle slipped and fell on top of him around 9:30 a.m., Knowles said. Firefighters had to use a mechanical hoist to lift the tractor off the man. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A husband and wife from Hanover died Sunday evening when a backhoe operated by a teenager drove into the path of their car on Route 116 in Heidelberg Township, York County, Southwestern Regional Police said. Police identified the victims Monday as Roy Kline Jr., 86, and his 85-year-old wife, Lorraine. They did not identify the 17-year-old who was operating the backhoe and who lives near the scene of the accident. The investigation of the crash is continuing, police said.
