Investigators believe that shortly after 10:00 a.m., a semi-truck was headed south on I-380 when it for some reason careened across the median into the northbound lanes and hit a bus head-on. So far, three people have been confirmed dead, and at least 17 injured. Many victims were reported to be unconscious, and several were transported to the hospital via helicopter. A charter bus that was taking Italian tourists to Niagara Falls was traveling on Interstate 380 after departing from the New York metro area when the bus collided with a tractor-trailer. The bus was carrying 17 people, and during the collision three of them including the bus driver were killed, and four were left in critical condition. More than a dozen people were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

At approximately 7:00 a.m., 54-year-old Gregory A. Prest was southbound on I-99 in a semi-truck, when he departed the road to left, crossing over the median and colliding head-on with an embankment. His truck flipped upside-down and burst into flames, and police found and pronounced him dead at the scene at about 7:23 a.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. A semi-truck with a trailer full of white powder used in cosmetics was making a sharp turn at South Park Avenue and Crawford Road at about 6:00am, when its trailer became disconnected and moved into the path of a tanker truck driven by Jermon Jeffers, 40, who collided with it head-on. The powder in the trailer spilled all of the roadway and caught fire. Jeffers was trapped in his vehicle and pronounced dead when he was finally extricated.

One person was killed this morning in a collision between a passenger vehicle and semi in Franklin, Fayette County. The crash occurred around 9 a.m. on Route 51 about a quarter-mile south of the Route 201 intersection, according to county emergency officials. The driver of the car, identified as Sasha Green, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.

Tractor-trailers, trucks and cars were all involved in the crash on westbound I-80 that left two people dead and more than 10 injured. Police say the pileup in Clarion Township occurred during a snow squall Wednesday afternoon and involved at 18 vehicles. Timothy Floravit of Beaver Falls collapsed and died of internal injuries while looking for his children, who had been ejected from their vehicle.
