Charlotte, NCAccording to fire officials, a 2-year-old boy was riding on a riding lawn mower with a relative on a Sunday afternoon. The boy was let off of the motor when he got his foot caught by the blade of the mower. The extent of his injuries has not been reported. He was flown to an area hospital for treatment.

Charlotte, NCA pregnant woman died in a two-vehicle collision on Tuesday afternoon in Gastonia. Rebecca Hodge Williams, 24, collided with another car on County Line Road. She was pronounced deceased at the crash site. CPR was performed on Williams by a trooper and a nurse, providing oxygen to Williams' baby who was due on Jan. 19. The 7-pound, 5-ounce baby was delivered via cesarean section at Gaston Regional Hospital and then transported to Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte. The baby boy, named Riley Andrew Williams, later died in a Charlotte hospital.
