A serious collision occurred on Highway 27 in Summerville, Georgia last Friday when a vehicle driven by 31-year-old Kristina Marie Chandler of North Carolina collided with a KhemPro truck carrying weed killer. According to Georgia State Patrol records, the accident took place around 11:15 AM in front of the McDonald's restaurant when Chandler attempted to exit a shopping center and failed to yield the right of way. Her vehicle struck the truck in the left northbound lane of Highway 27.

A 74-year-old pedestrian sustained serious injuries after being struck while using a crosswalk on Broad Street in Rome, Georgia on Wednesday morning. According to Floyd County Police, the incident occurred at the intersection of Broad Street and East Sixth Avenue when 55-year-old Heather Marie Erb allegedly drove her vehicle into the crosswalk while the pedestrian crossing sign was active.

A devastating collision occurred on Interstate 20 in Newton County, Georgia early Monday morning when a car crashed into the rear of a tractor trailer, resulting in one fatality. According to Georgia State Patrol (GSP), the incident took place shortly before 5:00 a.m. when the driver, allegedly under the influence of drugs and alcohol, was traveling at excessive speed before impact.

In a concerning incident during Valentine's Day evening 2025, local law enforcement apprehended a motorcyclist for driving under the influence on Highway 114 in Chattooga County. Brandon James Alexander, 25, was arrested following a traffic stop that began at approximately 10:15 PM when Deputy Jonathon Reynolds observed his motorcycle traveling at 70 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. The pursuit briefly continued when Alexander allegedly failed to stop immediately, turning onto Charlie Street before finally coming to a halt in a residential driveway.

A serious head-on collision occurred in Austell, Georgia on February 9 at 5:09 p.m., when Leigh Anne Phillips, 44, of Ocala, Florida, allegedly drove on the wrong side of the road and crashed at the intersection of Oak Ridge and Blair Bridge roads. According to the Cobb County Police Department arrest warrant, Phillips was operating her vehicle under the influence of THC at high speed when the incident occurred.
