Donnis Patterson seriously injured, transported to hospital, after he is struck by a SUV, driven by Marva Bradley, and then struck by a second vehicle that fled the scene, while crossing Central Avenue in Charlotte.

One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being struck by two vehicles in southeast Charlotte Tuesday.

The incident happened just after 9:30 p.m. on the 5400 block of Central Avenue.

Police said Donnis Patterson was crossing Central Avenue when he was hit by a 2001 Ford Explorer driven by Marva Bradley.

According to investigators with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Bradley was traveling in the outbound lane on Central Avenue and immediately stopped.
