A woman is dead after a hit-and-run accident in Newark, Delaware Sunday morning. The accident occurred near Chapel Street and Delaware Avenue when 22-year-old Amanda Hagelstein and a second person were trying to cross Delaware avenue. A truck approached, and the second person stopped, however Hagelstein decided to run across the road and was struck by the oncoming truck. She was sent to Christiana hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The driver, 21-year-old Kyle Loyd, fled from the scene, however he was found and taken into custody shortly after the accident.
