A Hamilton man died after his car was struck by a train on Saturday morning. The Butler County Sheriff's Office said Johnny Robbins, 38, of Hamilton, was traveling northbound on Hamilton-Eaton Road just after 1 a.m. when his car failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center line and hit a guardrail before coming to rest on railroad tracks as a freight train approached. The train struck Robbins' car and pushed it along the tracks for approximately 1,600 feet before the train could come to a complete stop. Robbins was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
