An 8-year-old child is dead after a semi broadsides a pickup in Pine County Friday just before 8 a.m. A Ford truck driven by 31-year-old Colette Stadin was stopped at a stop sign on Deerfield Lane and Highway 23 when she pulled forward and was struck on the side by a semi traveling south on Highway 23. An 8-year-old girl in the truck, Gracelynn Stadin, was brought to Gillette Children's Hospital in St. Paul in critical condition, where she later died.
