One person was killed in a fatal truck accident near the Route 73 overpass in Cherry Hill closed Interstate 295 in both directions on Sunday night. A box truck and a second vehicle crashed on the northbound side around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday causing the truck to catch fire. The closure caused a multi-mile backup in both directions of I-295. Additional details will be posted as they become available. Take these important steps after a truck accident:

A tractor-trailer crash snarled traffic along a heavily-traveled road in South Jersey Friday morning.

The crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-295 at the Creek Road underpass approaching Route 42.

A tractor-trailer lost control and slammed into an embankment. The driver was not seriously injured.

There were no other vehicles involved in the crash.

As a result of the crash, only the two lefts lanes were able to squeeze by. Officials said the tractor was going to stay where it was until the morning rush hour was over.

A crash involving several cars and a tractor trailer shut down the southbound lanes of I-295 in Burlington County, N.J. for a brief time on Thursday.

The truck and three cars collided just after 2 p.m. on Thursday near exit 52 in Columbus, N.J.

The collision sent antifreeze and oil spraying all over the roadway. Crews spread sand to clear up the mess.

Cars backed up for at least at least two miles as emergency crews worked at the scene.
