Melford J. Elliot, the pastor of the Greater Bethel Baptist Church, was involved in a car crash on Interstate 71 that took his life. Elliott's car reportedly drifted into the median and he lost control. The car rolled over and he was thrown from the vehicle. Elliot landed on the opposite side of the highway where he was struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
