Tampa-St. Petersburg, FLMichael Norris was traveling north in the right lane of Interstate 75 when a vehicle in front of him made an abrupt lane change. Norris was unable to stop and collided with the rear of the car, as well as a BMW that was stopped. The driver of the BMW, identified as Roger Piro, 45, was not injured. The driver that made the lane change fled the scene.

Ramnarine of Miami was driving north in a Chrysler on Interstate 75 at about 4:37 Sunday morning when she rear-ended a GMC Terrain while nearing the County Road 6/Moccasin Wallow Road exit. The rear-ended SUV then ran off the roadway and overturned onto its roof, killing its driver, Derrell Scruggs, 68, and injuring Naomi Scruggs, 69, who was transported to Blake Medical Center. Ramnarine had three children in her vehicle, ages 5, 3, and 1, all of whom were injured and transported to Lakewood Ranch Hospital.
