A 35-year-old man who had stopped to help a relative with a disabled vehicle on M-89 in Trowbridge Township has been hit and killed by another vehicle. Pamela Knowlton, 56, was crossing the street with a green light when she was hit and crushed under a semi trailer. It is not yet known if the truck driver will face charges. Knowlton worked in the Otsego City Treasurer's office as an accounting specialist.

Hitchcock was driving a dump truck on M-89 when something, possibly a tire suddenly blowing out, caused the him to lose control and depart the roadway, where the truck hit multiple trees. The collision left Hitchcock severely injured, and he remains in critical condition in the hospital. A 17-year-old was seriously hurt after a Tuesday afternoon crash on slick roads. It happened around 3:40 p.m. on M-89 near 46th Street in Ross Township, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department. The 17-year-old male driver from Augusta was headed west on M-89 when he lost control on the slushy roads. His car slid, crossed the center line, and was hit on the passenger's side by an eastbound vehicle. The 17-year-old was taken to Borgess Hospital and was listed in serious condition Tuesday evening. The 55-year-old driver of Tecumseh was treated at the scene and released.
