The accident occurred just before 8 a.m. on Martin Street in Breaux Bridge when for unknown reasons, a pickup truck ran off the road and hit a group of children. A 15-year-old girl died at the scene, a 14-year-old girl was taken to the hospital where she died. A 13-year-old girl was taken to Our Lady of the Lake hospital in Baton Rouge with serious injuries. The driver of the pickup, Jeremy Abraham, attempted to flee the scene crashed into a ditch and now is in state police custody.
