Lansing, MIAt around 6 p.m. Sunday in Eaton County, an Oldsmobile Silhouette was driving south on Mason Road when the vehicle went off the road, striking a tree near Kinsel Highway. A passenger, Brendan Pearce, 15, of Vermontville, was pronounced dead at the scene, while five other people in the vehicle were brought to the hospital. The driver of the vehicle that crashed, Melissa Musser of Vermontville, later died from her injuries. A 19-year-old male passenger sustained life-threatening injuries, and the three other passengers are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
