Wednesday, April 8, 2015Latosha Nicole Leathers was driving north on U.S. 71 with two children in the car when she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tractor-trailer. All three people were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer, Marla Gayle Pipes, 52, was injured and taken to Mena Regional Health System for treatment.

Friday, December 12, 2014A Mena woman died Friday morning when her car crashed with a tractor-trailer. Carolyn Standridge, 66, was driving a 2000 Lincoln on U.S. 71 near Mena. John Draper, 46, of Shreveport, La., was driving a tractor-trailer north on 71. At about 6:20 a.m., Standridge’s car crossed the center line into the northbound lane and collided with the tractor-trailer. Standridge was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:06 a.m., while Draper was not injured.
