Chico-Redding, CAA white two-door Mitsubishi was traveling at a high speed north on Highway 273 when the driver ran a red light, then lost control and swerved into oncoming traffic. The Mitsubishi struck a southbound Ford Thunderbird head-on. The driver of the Thunderbird, Russell Tim Hager, 57, was pronounced dead at the scene.
