Chicago, ILJust before 8:45 a.m., an ambulance carrying a patient crashed into a school bus from Valpraiso Community Schools. The bus was transporting 59 fifth-graders, 12 of which suffered minor injuries in the crash. Two ambulance employees and the patient in the ambulance were taken to local hospitals. Witnesses say the ambulance did not have emergency lights or sirens on at the time of the crash. The 23-year-old driver of the ambulance was driving with a suspended license.

Terre Haute, INJakita Brown allegedly rear-ended a pickup truck at the intersection of U.S. 41 (3rd Street) and Hulman Street. No one in the pickup truck was seriously hurt. She failed a breath test and had three children in her vehicle at the time. She was taken to Vigo County Jail where she faces a variety of preliminary charges including three counts of neglect of a dependant and driving without a valid driver's license. The accident is still under investigation.
