Memphis, TNAccording to police, and car driven by Katie Howard left Highway 305 and struck a tree in Tate County around 6p.m. Sunday. The car started on fire after striking the tree. A juvenile passenger was rescued by emergecy personnel, but they were unable to reach Howard in time to save her.

New Orleans, LAChaz William Gill, 16, died when he ran a stop sign at the intersection of East Pike Street and Hancock Drive and was struck by a pickup truck driven by Andrew Price of Pass Christian. Gill was pronounced dead at the scene. Price initially stopped to render aid to the teen, but he eventually panicked and left the scene. He was then charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

Hattiesburg-Laurel, MSA car accident has killed three and left one critically injured. Olivia Wells, 16, and her sister Elizabeth Wells, 13, as well as Ethan Heinrich, 14, have all been confirmed deceased. The fourth person involved is listed in critical condition, and has now been identified as Brandi Smith, 19.
