40-year-old Jeanne Anguiano was allegedly drunk and driving a stolen vehicle when she was headed south in the northbound lanes of Eastern Avenue at around 3:40 a.m. An officer that was directing traffic was attempting to pull her over, but not before she crashed into a truck and the three construction workers who were near it. Two of the workers and Anguiano herself were seriously injured and brought to the hospital, while one worker was struck but did not require hospitalization. The two-vehicle crash happened on the 215 Beltway at about 5 a.m., when the male driver of a Mazda sedan driving eastbound near the Fifth Street exit crossed the center median and crashed into a Cadillac Escalade headed west on the Beltway, causing the vehicle to catch fire. Both occupants of the Escalade and the driver of the Mazda were killed. No one else is believed to have been in the Mazda, and the driver of that vehicle is suspected of DUI. A woman is dead after a head-on collision near I-215 and Windmill Lane when a Toyota truck driven by an allegedly impaired driver was traveling in the wrong direction along westbound I-215 and collided with a Hyundai. The female driver of the Hyundai died at the scene of the accident. Emergency crews transported the 31-year-old male driver of the Toyota to University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
