It was about 7:10am when Wyman was speeding on Branch Road and left the roadway, causing the vehicle to roll. Both Wyman and Lewis, a passenger in her vehicle, were injured and taken to the hospital. Lewis was treated and released, and Wyman was treated and then booked into Yakima County Jail.

Early in the morning, a vehicle departed the road and collided with a power pole, killing four people including two men and two women, and injuring two men. Of the men injured, one was ejected from the vehicle and sustained critical injuries and both were transported to Harborview Medical Center.
