It was about 1:55pm when a southbound car on I-41 driven by a 72-year-old man slowed for a construction zone, and was struck from behind by a semi-truck. This initial collision caused the man's car to fly forward into the rear of a pickup truck, which then rear-ended another car. The 72-year-old man and his 69-year-old female passenger were both critically injured in the crash, while the 24-year-old male semi-truck driver, 47-year-old male pickup driver, and 66-year-old female passenger in the second car were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
