Dakota Jay Yoder was riding a 4-wheeler on private property when the vehicle flipped on top of him. He was taken to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries the next day. The 12-year-old, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses told authorities the ATV was resting on top of the boy. Under Michigan law, you must be 16 to ride an ATV. Since Eliason was only 12, police are investigating who the ATV belonged to and who allowed him to ride it.
