A teenage driver died in a car accident that also critically injured his passenger at around 7:50 a.m. Sunday on Verona Road. The vehicle they were in crossed the center line and crashed into a tree. Both teens are students at Harper Creek High School in Battle Creek. Police say they are investigating whether alcohol or speed were factors, though they say there were no indications that either played a role in the crash.
