Tuesday, June 2, 201519-year-old Dominic Lee, a well known Osceola High School football player, was driving a pickup truck with four other passengers east on U.S. Highway 192 at about 4:20 a.m., when he seems to have lost control for unknown reasons. His truck careened across the median into the westbound lanes where it overturned and rolled multiple times. A few of the passengers were thrown from the vehicle during the rolling, including Lee, who was confirmed to not be wearing a seat belt at the time.

Friday, March 27, 2015According to Florida Highway Patrol, 17-year-old Brianna Nelson of Edgewater was killed in a 1 a.m. crash on Interstate 95 at mile marker 251 in Volusia County. Nelson was driving a Suzuki Forenza south on I-95 near State Road 44 when for unknown reasons she left the roadway, and her vehicle overturned. She was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say distracted driving could have been a factor in the accident.
