It was about 7:00pm when Novack was finishing her job as a school bus driver at Tracy Elementary School, and was heading to her car. She apparently entered the car to realize that there was mechanical problem, but left the car in neutral as she went behind it to investigate. The car rolled into Novack, and she was later found by an employee pinned between her own car and another parked vehicle. Responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
