A car was going freeway speeds on westbound I-80 at about shortly after 4:30 p.m. when they rear-ended a tractor-trailer that was going about 25 mph. The car became crushed and wedged beneath the trailer, killing the two men inside. Check back for updates on this developing story.
Police believe that a 37-year-old man was drunk and may have been using inhalants while driving during a serious four-vehicle crash on 4425 South and 700 East Thursday evening. The man was northbound on 700 East when he first rear-ended another northbound vehicle. His car then crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a southbound vehicle, nearly head-on, before rotating and striking one more vehicle. Two children, a 9-year-old girl and10-year-old boy, were both hospitalized with serious injuries and were in the first car to be struck.
