Saturday, January 31, 2015Esparza-Montelongo was driving a pickup truck west on Spring Creek Road at about 2:00am, and was speeding. He then lost control and departed the roadway, causing the pickup to roll several times. Two passengers in the vehicle, Rendon and Ramirez-Martinez, along with Esparza-Montelongo were ejected and killed, and none of them were wearing seat belts. It is suspected that alcohol played a role in this crash, and toxicology tests are underway.

Thursday, September 25, 2014Khalid Al-Sadun was driving on I-25 with a 42-year-old passenger about 10 miles north of Walsenburg, Colorado when an elk entered the road. Al-Sadun's pickup struck the elk before veering off the side of the road, rolling, and hitting a fence. Al-Sadun was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Alcohol was not involved in the crash.
