Thursday, March 27, 2014A 22-year-old man from Sunnyvale died Friday after the car he was riding in collided with a truck going in the opposite direction.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 3:20 p.m. on Highway 120 near Old Highway 120 in the Sonora area.
Alex Hsu, 22, of Sunnyvale was driving a 2014 Toyota Camry west on Highway 120 when he tried to pass an unknown vehicle going in the same direction on a left-hand curve in the road. At the same time, a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Virginia Armas, 70, of Groveland was approaching in the opposite direction.

Tuesday, March 18, 2014A CHP pickup truck with emergency lights and siren activated collided with a car Wednesday at an off-ramp between Esparto and Woodland, causing minor injuries.
At about 10 a.m. Wednesday the officer in the black and white CHP pickup with camper shell was heading eastbound on Highway 16 approaching the Interstate 505 over crossing.
A CHP press release said that the officer was traveling “Code 3” with lights and siren activated in response to a call of an officer down needing assistance in the Woodland area. The release did not say any more about the officer-down call.

Saturday, March 15, 2014A man crossing the street was hit and killed by a large pickup truck Sunday morning, Fairfield Police say.
The man was crossing West Texas Street at the intersection of Fifth Street around 9:30 a.m. when he was hit, according to a release from the Fairfield Police Department. Witnesses at the scene called 911 as soon as they saw the accident.

Saturday, February 22, 2014A person was killed in a crash by a speeding car involved in a street race in Fairfield on Sunday evening, a police sergeant said.
Officers responded to reports of a collision at Lopes Road and Canyon Hills Drive around 5:15 p.m., a police Sgt. said.
Arriving officers found a blue Infinti coupe and black Mazda sedan at the scene, he said.
An investigation showed that the Infinti was driving south on Lopes Road where it was involved in an incident with a black, late model Toyota Tundra pickup truck also traveling in the same direction, police said.

Thursday, February 13, 2014A 31-year-old man has died of injuries suffered on Interstate 5 on Feb. 14 when a wheel from a trailer crashed through the windshield of his vehicle.
Truck leaves roadway and crashes into house in Sacramento for unknown reasons. No injuries reported.

Tuesday, February 11, 2014A truck slammed into a house in Sacramento this morning.
The crash happened on 13th Street and Gagle way, a few blocks northwest of Florin Road and South Land Park Drive.
The truck first struck the garage and then ended up near the front door of the home.
No injuries are reported from this accident and police have yet to say why the truck driver careened off the road.

Wednesday, January 22, 2014A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a big rig on Bradshaw Road on Thursday.
The California Highway Patrol said that at about 7 a.m. Thursday dispatchers received a report of a crash between the motorcycle and the big rig in a northbound lane of Bradshaw Road, north of Kiefer Boulevard.
The motorcyclist, a man, died at the scene.

Thursday, January 9, 2014Traffic on northbound Interstate 5 just north of the Interstate 80 interchange was reduced to a crawl Friday after a truck involved in a high-speed police pursuit crashed.
The driver of the truck is suspected of committing assault in the 220 block of Richards Boulevard at around 9 a.m., according to a Sacramento Police Department statement.

The crash happened on westbound Interstate 80 just before the highway 65 junction.
At least seven cars and a big rig were reportedly involved in this accident that has injured several people.
