The Shelby County Fire Department were on the scene of a two-vehicle accident resulting in serious injuries at Hacks Cross and Stateline Road.

The southbound lanes of Hacks Cross Road at East Holmes Road were closed due to this accident, but now open.

At least three people were injured in this accident and the hospital wing was called to the scene.

One person is dead after a traffic accident involving a pedestrian at Poplar and Kirby. Police have shut down westbound Poplar Avenue at Kirby Parkway due to the Tuesday morning accident.

This accident was reported around 7:00 a.m. on Poplar Avenue near Kirby Parkway.

Germantown police have tweeted that they do not know how long Poplar Avenue will be closed.

An 81-year-old man is dead after being hit by a car in a traffic accident that also slightly injured a police officer late Monday, police said.

Eugene Divine was pronounced dead after the accident just after 10 p.m. at Union just east of Bellevue, police said. According to police, a police officer was standing outside a car that was being towed. A second car, heading east on Union, ran over the officer’s foot, then hit Divine. The elderly man was thrown over the squad car, police said. No charges have been filed yet, police added.

Grieving family members are upset that the man who was behind the wheel of a car that crashed into two trees and a house, killing one of the four passengers, is free on the street.

Shakerri Stewart-Dupree, 19, died in the wreck. Family members say she was pregnant at the time and that the child also died. She also leaves behind a one-year-old daughter.

An off-duty Memphis Police officer was killed in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 55, just before 11 Wednesday night. Off-duty MPD officer, Johnathan Jones, 39, was in a white, late-model Chevy Silverado that somehow ended up wrapped around a pole on Interstate 55, north of Brooks Road. According to authorities, he was sent to the MED in critical condition and died at the hospital Thursday morning.

Memphis police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident, which happened early Saturday morning on I-55 near Shelby Drive.

Police say a 69-year-old male pulled over on the interstate's emergency lane to pick up something he dropped out of his window; that is when another car struck him. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

His wife told police he dropped his cell phone out of the window.

Witnesses followed the hit-and-run car to Millbranch and Stateline roads. Southaven police detained the two suspects but have not released the victims name.

A Memphis driver was rushed to the hospital after colliding with a train Friday morning. The accident happened at the railroad crossing on Hollywood Street, near Liberty Bowl Stadium. Witnesses say the driver hesitated, then decided to drive over the tracks. That is when he was hit by the train. The impact of the collision pushed the car about 100 yards.

A car rear-ended a bus at a Collierville intersection Wednesday. The bus was taking 32 students home from Bailey Station Elementary when the accident occurred shortly before 4:30 p.m. at Shea Road and Poplar Avenue. No students were injured; they were safely transferred to another bus to the school where parents picked them up. The bus driver was checked out by paramedics as a precaution. The driver of the Corvette was airlifted to The MED.

At least one person is dead after an accident involving a CSX train and a vehicle in Haywood County, according to Brownsville police.

Tennessee Highway Patrol said the accident happened at Shaw Chapel Road around 3 p.m. Wednesday.
