The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a 10-year-old boy died Friday in a snowmobile crash just east of Woodland in Wasatch County, near Highway 35. Officials say the 10-year-old was driving the snowmobile with his father and lost control of snowmobile causing it to roll. The boy suffered fatal injuries while the father sustained only minor injuries. Police say both of them were wearing helmets.

A motorist died Sunday in American Fork when his car drifted into oncoming traffic.

Police did not disclose the name of the 33-year-old man on Sunday. About 5:14 p.m., he was driving a car east on Pioneer Crossing near Main Street. The car drifted right and drove over a raised median covered with shrubs, said American Fork police.

A pickup truck traveling west struck the car broadside, killing the driver. The pickup truck’s driver suffered minor injuries.

Police are investigating whether the 33-year-old man was distracted.

Two people are in critical condition following a wreck on Interstate 80 Saturday morning. Police say a black car was headed down Parley's Canyon when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The car crashed into a semi truck and troopers had to extricate both the driver and passenger from the vehicle.The two people were taken to the hospital in critical condition. Officers say speed and wet roads caused the crash.

A semi truck and trailer rolled off Interstate 80 Thursday afternoon in Salt Lake County. The westbound semi rolled off the right side of the interstate about 5:30 p.m. near the border between Salt Lake and Tooele counties, according to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce. Royce did not know of any injuries. According to Royce, traffic delays were minimal due to the way the trailer slide off the road. The accident was cleared by 10 p.m. Royce added that the trailer most likely did not open during the accident.

Utah Highway Patrol had to extract a driver from his semi-truck after it rolled over on northbound I-15 between Spanish Fork and Springville.

Officers are still trying to determine why the accident took place near mile marker 261.

Traffic congestion is heavy in the area and it is advised that travelers look for alternate routes.

A car sliding out of control Wednesday afternoon led to a toppled semi trailer and major delays in Utah County.

At about 3:20 p.m., a white northbound car slammed into the right wall on the side of Interstate 15 between Provo and Springville, the Utah Highway Patrol Trooper said. The car then slide across the freeway and hit the left barriers. As the car was coming to a stop in the middle of the freeway, a semi trailer hauling Xerox copies swerved to miss it and fell over.

Two semitrailer trucks collided head-on early Tuesday in southern Utah, killing an Arizona man.

Michael Eckerman, 29, of Glendale, Ariz., was driving a semi north on State Road 191 near Bluff about 12:45 a.m., when he crossed the center line and collided with a southbound mail truck.

"Both trailers were ripped open, and their contents were scattered," Utah Highway Patrol troopers wrote in a statement Tuesday afternoon.

Eckerman was killed in the crash. The driver of the southbound semi suffered minor injuries from flying glass; he was taken to a hospital.

A carjacking in West Valley City ended in a crash with a police car in downtown Salt Lake City Friday afternoon.

About half-a-dozen Salt Lake City and West Valley City police cars ended up surrounding the stolen vehicle near a Phillips 66 station at 300 West and 400 South about 1 p.m.

Salt Lake City police confirmed that officers had to deploy their Tasers to take the male suspect into custody, but not until after he tried to drive out of the station parking lot by repeatedly ramming an unmarked police car and then fought with officers trying to arrest him.

Three men were taken to the hospital after a truck hauling a trailer filled with construction equipment smashed through the picture window of a home at 5784 Ferron Circle in Taylorsville. It happened just before 2 p.m. when family members say Ben Pearson, 54, potentially blacked out while driving and smashed into the house where Dean Rottini, his dog Nicki and his friend Tommy Gonzales were watching TV.

All nine people critically injured in a two-vehicle crash near Wellington were expected to make a full recovery, Utah Highway Patrol troopers said Sunday.

A Chevrolet truck was westbound on State Route 6 in Carbon County — about 11 miles east of Wellington — about 5:05 p.m. Saturday when one of the tires on the truck separated, the UHP reported.

The truck veered to the right, then back to the left into eastbound traffic, where it was T-boned by an oncoming Nissan Pathfinder.
