One person was killed in an accident on a busy Rock Hill road Monday.

The wreck happened before 5 p.m. on Celanese Road. Officials confirmed that one person was killed in the collision.

Celanese Road was closed in both directions while crews worked the scene.

Drivers were being diverted onto Cherry Road.

Officials have not said what may have led to the accident, or if others were injured.

The name of the deceased has not been released.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating the cause of an early morning crash that injured two CMPD officers.

Authorities say around midnight Saturday morning, a police cruiser and a white SUV were involved in an accident on Wilkinson Boulevard in west Charlotte. The incident happened in front of a Family Dollar store. The police cruiser hit a pole and knocked down a road sign. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage.

A wreck involving a train and a dump truck has caused the closure of a road in Harrisburg.

According to officials, the accident happened just before 3 p.m. at the railroad tracks near the intersection of Shamrock Road and Highway 49.

Shamrock Road was shut down, as the contents of the dump truck were spilled onto the roadway.

Officials stated that one person was injured in the wreck, and is expected to be okay.

Emergency crews are clearing a vehicle crash in south Charlotte the sent one person to the hospital.

The incident was reported at 7:36 a.m. along Pineville-Matthews Road at The Arboretum, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

Firefighters responded and had to physically remove one of the victims from their vehicle.

Medic crews transported the victim to the hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Residual delays are expected through the morning rush hour.

Troopers in Gaston County say a woman died when her vehicle overturned after she ran off the road Tuesday morning.

Gloria Chacon-Hernandez, 51, of Dallas, was killed when her vehicle ran off of the shoulder of Dallas High Shoals Highway, overturned and struck a tree, according to the NC Highway Patrol.

The incident was reported on Dallas High Shoals Highway near Miles Road, according to the NC Highway Patrol.

Speed was a factor in the crash.

Investigators in Alexander County arrested a man who led them on a high speed chase and crashed into two other cars Tuesday.

The chase started when a deputy spotted a 2014 Hyundai Elantra driving recklessly on Wayside Church Road, according to the news release from the Alexander County Sheriff's Office.

The driver of the car refused to stop for the deputy. This led to a chase through Alexander County and into Catawba County.

Emergency officials are responding to an accident in southwest Charlotte involving a car and a tractor trailer. The accident happened on the railroad tracks on the 11500 block of Steele Creek Road just before 6:30 p.m. Firefighters are on the scene, and say at least one person had to be rescued from one of the vehicles. Officials say that Steele Creek Road is shut down, and drivers should avoid the area if possible. There is no word if anyone was injured.

A 2-year-old was airlifted to the hospital Monday after a car crash in Burke County.

The wreck happened February 3, on Conley Road, which runs between Highways 70 and 64 in Morganton.

Troopers said the car the child was in went down a 15-foot embankment, hit a power pole, and hit a tree head on. They said the 2-year-old was in a car seat, and that it probably saved her life.

Both the 2-year-old and the driver were taken to the hospital, according to troopers. The child had to be airlifted to Asheville.

Troopers are investigating how the crash happened.

State investigators say a worker was killed Friday morning at a Shelby industrial site when a pipe fell. Emergency crews responded to the site, which is currently under construction, around 9:30 a.m. on Plato Lee Road. The NC Department of Labor says the worker was an employee of United Mechanical Corp. in Charlotte. Investigators say the accident occurred when the cap from a concrete casting was removed, causing a 10-inch pipe to fall and hit the worker in the head. The investigation is ongoing.

Troopers in Burke County are responding to a deadly overturned tractor trailer crash on Interstate 40 eastbound that has shut down one lane.

One person is dead, according to NC Highway Patrol, and another person was taken to the hospital.

The incident was reported at 7 a.m. at mile marker 113 in Morganton, according to the NCDOT.

No word yet on what caused the semi to overturn though troopers say it wasn't ice.

Troopers stated that one man was driving and another was in the sleeper.
