At about 5:30am, a double-decker bus operated by Megabus was traveling on I-65 when it veered off the roadway and rolled onto it's side. Of the 70 people on the bus, 27 sustained minor injuries and were treated at the local Schneck Medical Center, though one pregnant woman who suffered a cut to the head was taken to a hospital in Indianapolis. Though investigation is ongoing, it is believed that weather, including flurries and wind, played a role in this crash.

One person has died in a crash on I-65 southbound at State Road 11 north of Seymour in Jackson County. The accident involved a motorcyclist, James McHugh Jr., 58 of Prospect Heights, Illinois who died after hitting a tractor-trailer operated by Richard E. Gavin, 52 of Gainesville, Fla.

A Kentucky State Police trooper is recuperating after he was struck by a motorist during a traffic stop on Interstate 65. Sam Shacklette was taken to University Of Louisville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries Saturday night. No one else was hurt.

Metro police have identified the victims involved in a deadly crash along I-65 northbound in Madison Saturday evening.

The crash was reported around 6 p.m. near mile marker 94.

Police say the crash was triggered by a man who pulled over his truck to pick up debris from a blown tires.

A motorcyclist who was driving through the area crashed into the man, sending the driver, Eric Lee Knight, 34, of Adolphus, Kentucky and his passenger airborne.

Knight was then hit by another vehicle, and pronounced dead at the scene.

A father and two of his children were killed overnight, when their SUV rear-ended a semi-trailer truck on Interstate 65 in northwest Indiana.

Indiana State Police said a tanker truck carrying nitric acid crashed and rolled over on I-65 near Roselawn around 10:30 p.m. Monday, spilling its load. About an hour later, an 2008 Toyota Sequoia slammed into the rear of a semi-trailer truck that was stopped in a traffic backup from the crash, killing three people in the vehicle.

Police have released more details about a deadly crash along Interstate 65 in Bartholomew County Tuesday night.

Indiana State Police officials said the crash around 8 p.m. killed 56-year-old Michael Otte, of Whiteland. Otte was driving northbound on I-65 when his car crashed into the back of a semi that was stopped because of a traffic backup in the area. Otte died at the scene, and the semi driver wasn’t hurt.

Investigators believe Otte may have been distracted while driving.

As a result of the crash, I-65 was closed for more than two hours. It has since re-opened.

Three people, including an Indiana State Police trooper, were injured when a pickup lost control on a snow-covered I-65 in northwest Indiana Tuesday morning and struck a squad car stopped for another accident. The crash happened about 10 a.m. Monday on I-65 just south of the U.S. 30 exit in Merrillville, a statement from ISP said. Master Trooper Aaron Segrest, 53, was sitting in his unmarked squad car on the side of the northbound lanes when it was hit.
