Roy Bumgarner was driving on Highway 2 when he lost control of his vehicle due to the icy conditions and struck a pickup truck. Bumgarner died at the scene, and three other people were hospitalized though their conditions and identities have not yet been released. Bumgarner was not wearing a seatbelt. The accident is still under investigation.

Sharon Deppner, 74, was killed in a collision involving a semi truck and two vehicles on Highway 2 about five miles west of Airway Heights, Washington at about 8:41 a.m. Two cars were eastbound Highway 2 approaching Deep Creek Road when one of them lost control at the same time that a semi was traveling westbound in the same area. One of the vehicles, a pickup, lost control because of snowy road conditions.

The driver of a car has been killed in a collision with a pickup on Highway 2 near Snohomish. The Washington State Patrol says the car crossed the center line and hit the truck head-on about 5 a.m. Monday near the intersection with Highway 9. The driver of the car died at the scene and the pickup driver was taken to an Everett hospital in serious condition. A State Trooper stated that investigators are looking into the cause of the crash but there was heavy frost on the ground and roads around Snohomish County were slick.
