Birmingham, ALEduardo Nolasco-Cordova was standing next to his vehicle, which had a flat tire, on the shoulder of Interstate 59 when he was struck and killed by a 1993 Toyota Tacoma. The driver was identified as Jimmie Wayne Duncan, 63, of Attalla.

Birmingham, ALNorthport resident Kenneth Dewayne Blanchard was walking on Interstate 59 after getting a flat early Thursday morning. He died when he was hit by a tractor-trailer whose driver fled the scene. The truck is believed to be a dark brown Freightliner Classic with a model year between 1991 and 2002.
