A Bath woman was critically injured when her car crashed with an ambulance Wednesday afternoon. The ambulance, owned by Fingerlakes Ambulance and driven by Jami L. Haag, 29, of Geneva, was heading north on state Route 54 around 2:40 p.m. when it swerved around another vehicle that was slowing down, crossed into the oncoming lane, and collided nearly head-on with a vehicle driven by Teresa L. Snyder, 48. Snyder was taken to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, where she is in critical condition.

Tillinghast was the only occupant of the truck, and excessive speed likely contributed to the crash, police said. Tillinghast was a 2014 graduate of Bath Haverling High School and would have turned 19 on Sept. 5.
