Samuel Sampson was high on meth amphetamine and speeding down I-405 in Bellevue when he crashed into Ian Beckford. Sampson's wife, Stacy Abele, was in the car with him when they crashed. She told KIRO 7 he was on a suicide mission and hit speeds of 130 mph. Sampson and Abele only suffered minor injuries. Beckford's family was left wiping away tears Monday in the courtroom. Sampson was locked up in the King County Jail on $1 million bail at the time of this report.What money damages are recoverable in a death claim?

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s office has identified the victim in a fatal motorcycle accident Tuesday afternoon. Michael P. Lovas, 66, was riding a motorcycle when he collided with a truck on Trent Avenue and Mission Avenue at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Both drivers’ vehicles flipped. They were both taken to the hospital, Lovas with life-threatening injuries. Lovas later died as a result of massive blood loss due to blunt impact.

A woman in her 50s was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center when her car and a Metro bus collided in the 5700 block of Bothell Way Northeast just after 5 p.m. today, a King County Sheriff’s spokeswoman said. The car was was hit in the driver’s side when the vehicle  pulled out in front of the bus from the lot of a dental clinic, said Cindi West, the spokeswoman. The impact caused the car to spin out to the right, and while the driver was conscious when deputies arrived, West said, her injuries were serious enough to merit being airlifted to the hospital.
