The woman killed early Tuesday when she was struck by a car on the West Side has been identified by authorities.
Shena Brown, 44, of Chicago was hit by a car about 4:40 a.m. near West Roosevelt Road and South Damen Avenue, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
She was taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital, where she later died, police said.
A 4-year-old boy was killed in a crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway Sunday evening.
The crash occurred about 5:20 p.m. in the northbound lanes on the expressway near 87th Street, authorities said.
The boy was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:25 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
The boy’s name was withheld Sunday evening.
A woman was struck by a freight train Tuesday night in the Austin neighborhood.
The woman, 56, was found at approximately 10 p.m. in the 2000 block of North Narragansett Avenue, or near the Galewood Metra station, a police News Affairs Officer said.
She was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood in critical condition, Greer said.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
Police are investigating if weather played a role in a deadly crash in Chicago.
According to authorities, the 64-year-old driver hit a tree and then crashed into a store front in the 6200-block of North Pulaski at approximately 1 a.m.
Paramedics say the man died at the scene.

A man was killed in a crash in the Gage Park neighborhood on the South Side early Saturday.
Just before 2 a.m., a 19-year-old man was sitting in the passenger seat of vehicle travelling south on Western Avenue near 50th Street when the vehicle struck a tree, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer, citing preliminary information.
When emergency crews arrived at the scene, the man was found unresponsive, Greer said.
